Reform LA Listening Sessions

The Ad Hoc Committee on Governance Reform has begun its listening sessions on potential reforms to our city’s redistricting process. This is a historic effort which is being led by the Council President and the more public participation the better, as reforms recommended by the committee will need to go to the full City Council and the voters for adoption, as many reforms would require changes to the City Charter.

Support Our Artists May 6

NoHo West Neighborhood Council is excited to support this fun art project. The students will paint the utility box at the corner of Ethel & Vanowen near James Madison Middle School. We are funding the anti graffiti coating. Come by and support the artists by waving, honking or shouting your support!

LA Animal Services will offer reduced adoption fees every weekend in April to help the pets in our six Centers to find loving homes. To encourage animal lovers to adopt, LA Animal Services invites you to meet your new canine buddy or feline friend at one of our special adoption weekend events.

Reduced Adoption Fees:

  April 18-19: Adopt Love Adoption Event (graphic attached)
 April 25-26: National Adopt a Shelter Pet Adoption Weekend

Reduced adoption fees for dogs, $51 (that does not include $20 license fee for LA City residents); puppies, $75, cats, $12.50; and kittens, $25.

Furry friends adopted from LA Animal Services join their new families already spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adopters also receive a Petco flyer with discounts to help make their pet adoption a success and a VCA Healthy Start Certificate, which provides up to $250 of follow up veterinary care within the first 14 days of adoption. In addition, dogs are also eligible for free dog training classes with Paws for Life K9 Rescue at their People & Pet Innovation Center in Mission Hills, CA.
