Welcome home your new furry friend as LA Animal Services is offering waived adoption fees on Saturday, Aug. 1 and Sunday, Aug. 2 for dogs, puppies, cats and kittens, thanks to the @ASPCA as part the Rescue Effect, an annual national campaign launched by the ASPCA® to drive animal adoptions and fosters across the United States. The central premise—"Adopt one, help many"—highlights a powerful ripple effect: when a person adopts or fosters a pet, they instantly free up critical space and resources in the shelter system, allowing the organization to rescue another animal in need. Our six LA Animal Services Centers are filled with amazing animal friends ready to meet you and be a part of your family! Pets adopted from LA Animal Services are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and, for LA City residents, licensed. https://www.laanimalservices.com/

The City of Los Angeles has launched the 2026 Los Angeles Youth Survey to better understand what young people in Los Angeles need, experience, and want City leaders to know. The survey asks about youth opportunities, jobs and career goals, education, mental health, safety, basic needs, transportation, and how young people want to be heard by the City. The survey is for youth who live in the city of Los Angeles ages 14 25 and it takes about 10 minutes. Your answers will be anonymous. Please be aware of an increase in stripped and abandoned vehicles being dumped throughout North Hollywood West and neighboring communities. LAPD has provided the following guidance: – Reporting: Report all abandoned vehicles to LADOT parking enforcement at 818-347-4823. – Safety First: If you witness a vehicle being dropped off, do not approach or confront the individuals involved. – Observation: If it can be done safely, please note any helpful details for the investigation, such as the tow truck’s company name, license plate, vehicle description, time, and direction of travel. Photos or video are also useful.
