SUMMARY:Community Workshop on Armenian History in Los Angeles
DESCRIPTION:For over a hundred years\, Armenian immigrants and their descendants have made critical contributions to the civic life of Los Angeles. The locations associated with their achievements should be recorded and celebrated. \nLos Angeles City Planning’s Office of Historic Resources (OHR)\, in collaboration with Environmental Science Associates and the USC Dornsife Institute of Armenian Studies is holding its first community workshop in District 2 to collect information on locations of historic significance to the Armenian American community. If you have memories and insights to share\, come participate in this community meeting. \nSaturday\, August 29\, 2026 \n4:30 to 6:30 PM \nHoly Trinity Armenian Church \n11960 Victory Blvd. \nNorth Hollywood\, CA 91606 \nCommunity input will become part of the Citywide Historic Context Statement\, the City’s primary planning tool for identifying\, recording\, and evaluating historic properties and districts in Los Angeles. The OHR has already completed context statements for African Americans\, Latinos and the city’s largest Asian American communities. \nYou can also participate in an online survey of Armenian American heritage. \nFor more information about the HistoricPlacesLA Revealed project and other initiatives by the Office of Historic Resources\, please visit LA City Planning’s website.
