The Goldhirsh Foundation funds organizations making Los Angeles better through our LA2050 Grants Challenge. This year, we asked Angelenos to vote for the issues that matter most to them and determine our funding priorities, which are:
Support for foster and systems-impacted youth
K-12 STEAM Education (Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts, Math)
Income Inequality
Opportunities for People Who Have Been Incarcerated
Green Space, Park Access, and Trees
Community Safety
Public Transit
Immigrant and Refugee Support
Affordable Housing and Homelessness
Health Care Access
+ Sponsored Issue Areas
Access to Creative Industry Employment
Youth Economic Advancement
Play Equity to Advance Mental Health
If you know of nonprofit, for-profit, or government organizations making an impact on one or more of the above issue areas, please encourage them to submit. There’s more than $2 million in grant funding available from LA2050 and our partners – the Annenberg Foundation, Snap Foundation, Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, Calley Foundation, and Elbaz Family Foundation.
The LA2050 Grants Challenge application portal closes on June 23rd, 2023 at 5 pm. There’s still plenty of time left for your neighbors to put together a successful proposal. Learn more.
For those of you that are familiar with the LA2050 Grants Challenge, we want to emphasize that through this new process, organizations will no longer go through public voting. Instead, applications will be evaluated by an external committee and then selected for a grant.
