Free Workshops: October 2017
The Los Angeles Housing & Community Investment Department (HCIDLA) believes in the importance of informing tenants about their rights and responsibilities, as well as resources available to them as renters. This workshop will focus on becoming a well–informed renter and provide information and handouts with tips on how to build a positive landlord/tenant relationship. Recent changes in the law, such as the Tenant Buy Out Notification program, will also be covered.
Learn how the Rent Stabilization Ordinance (RSO) affects you and how the HCIDLA ensures the safety and habitability of rental units through the Systematic Code Enforcement Program (SCEP).
The RSO generally covers rental units built before October 1978, with the exception of one single-family dwelling on a single parcel. Landlords are required to register all RSO units annually and pay a fee to cover program costs.
The workshops will be presented by HCIDLA’s Rent Stabilization and Code Enforcement staff along with the Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles (AAGLA) and will focus on tenant education.
