LA Animal Services has made the decision to postpone the large-scale Big Dog Walk for Life and Shelter Clean Up event that was scheduled on June 22 to ensure we maximize assistance to animals in our shelters while keeping our animals, volunteers, and staff safe.
We deeply appreciate the enthusiastic response to the Big Dog Walk for Life and Shelter Clean Up event, and we look forward to reimagining it this Fall with all of you. We will keep you informed of new developments and look forward to coming together for an exciting and successful event.
Please remember that, even without a large group event, dog walking happens every day in the shelters, and those who are new to this can still sign up to get trained on safe handling and taking dogs out for exercise.
LA Animal Services is calling on Angelenos to help make a BIG difference on Saturday, June 22, 2024. All six LA Animal Centers are participating in the first Big Dog Walk for Life & Shelter Clean Up event. From 8am to 12 Noon, volunteers and the public can visit the Animal Services Center of their choice and take a big dog out for a walk, or help by cleaning dog kennels while our canine friends are out on a walk.
