District NoHo, a revolutionary, transit-oriented, mixed-use, mixed-income development cleared its final hurdle in the City Council the week of March 22, 2024 when the development agreement between Metro, which owns the property, and Trammel Crow, the firm which will build the project, was approved by unanimous vote of the Council.
District NoHo will include 1,481 residential units, over 20 percent of them below market-rate, dramatically increasing the supply of affordable housing in North Hollywood. Built on land currently occupied by an underused Metro parking lot, the project includes space for retail, restaurant, and office uses, an art gallery and over two acres of publicly accessible open space, anchored by the Metro B and G stations in North Hollywood.
A consolidated bus hub, ADA enhancements, new bus shelters, crosswalks, pedestrian safety crossing controls, tree plantings, protected bike lanes and upgraded traffic signals will enhance safety and improve mobility for North Hollywood residents, employees, shoppers and commuters.
In addition to the estimated $1.1 billion in annual economic output the Project will produce in operation, the project will contribute millions in net new revenues to the City’s General Fund, and extend the economic vitality of the NoHo Arts District further up Lankershim Blvd. invigorating this entire corridor of the East Valley.
