LA2050

We received this notice from the Goldhirsh Foundation: As part of our philanthropic efforts, each year, we grant $1 million to organizations making Los Angeles better through the LA2050 Grants Challenge. For the 2022 Grants Challenge, we’re excited to implement something new: we’re launching a broad public voting campaign to ask Angelenos to share what issues matter most to them and then, in return, dedicating this year’s $1 million to the top-voted issues.

To help us reach as many Angelenos as possible during voting (online from April 18th to May 6th, 2022), we’re launching two new programs that may be of interest to you and your constituents: the LA2050 Youth Ambassador Program and LA2050 Listens.

LA2050 Youth Ambassadors

We’re looking for Angelenos ages 14 to 24 who are passionate about making an impact and interested in community engagement, philanthropy, and service join our new LA2050 Youth Ambassadors Program.

LA2050 Youth Ambassadors will help spread the word about voting for the LA2050 Grants Challenge. In return, they’ll learn about the social impact and philanthropic landscape in LA, be awarded a certificate honoring their service, have the opportunity to win up to $500, and receive other benefits.

LA2050 Listens

We’re accepting applications to our LA2050 Listens Program. Through LA2050 Listens, we will give grants of $5,000 to social impact organizations to host conversations about the future of LA with their communities.

Our hope is that through LA2050 Listens, we would involve diverse communities across Los Angeles in thinking about LA’s challenges and opportunities and casting their votes in the LA2050 Grants Challenge. We’re looking for ideas for events that are engaging, inclusive, and creative.
