NoHo West held a successful Board Retreat on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Grace Community Church. Top of mind was the formation and approval of a budget prior to the September 1 deadline. This year’s budget includes provisions to fund Graffiti Busters maintaining the green space adjacent to the Whitsett Slope Mural. With homelessness becoming an increasing problem across Los Angeles and the Valley, NoHo West plans to partner with Homeless Connect to hold local events providing a one-stop shop of health and human services to the homeless. NoHo West would help by providing giveaways of practical items to the homeless.
The retreat was an opportunity for the Board to meet our new LAPD Senior Lead Officer, Hillary Del Rio who will be a great resource for overall safety concerns in our community.
NoHo West wants to continue its leadership role in community arts by partnering with the Museum of the San Fernando Valley on local arts projects and is exploring what projects might work in our community. After a careful analysis of last year’s outreach events, we are intent on staying local to visibly benefit our community and increase participation in our Neighborhood Council. Join us at our next meeting on September 28.
