The office of Councilmember Paul Krekorian has been working with LAPD to notify local businesses within the special enforcement zone cleanup areas near the Bridge Home that this enhanced service could go away if certain municipal codes are invalidated. These enhanced cleanup areas include those around our existing Bridge Housing at Raymer and Van Nuys, as well as those throughout the City. The City Council has not voted on this yet, but they will be considering the matter within the next few weeks. At a recent Council meeting where the matter was discussed, advocates for people experiencing homelessness overwhelmingly asked that the cleanups be discontinued. We know that this view is not shared by everyone and we would like the Council to hear from stakeholders who have had positive experiences or have seen an improvement in quality of life in their community. If you would like to voice your opinion in support of, or in opposition to, keeping the enhanced cleanups below is the call-in information.
